Trouble shooting tips.
please check to make sure you have efix supported hardware (efix compatible components)
A. efix compatible motherboard
B. sata interface hard drive
C. Compatible video/graphic card (we only suggest nVidia graphic card)
D. sata interface dvd rom/optical drive (we suggest sony sata optical drive)
E. please use only 2gb of ram for initial setup, once the setup is complete you may add more ram, please use your motherboard manual for ram configuration.
E. using correct serial port to connect your hard drive and optical drive, one hard drive and one optical drive is connection to your motherboard, Only Intel supported sata ports NOT GSATA ports.
F. only components that should be connected to your motherboard are RMA(memory), CPU, only 1 video/graphic card, only 1 sata optical drive, only 1 hard drive and off-course EFIX USB module; connected to F_USB1 USB port of your motherboard; no SLI setup. Should you want to add more components, please do so after the installation is complete.
G. monitor no larger than 24" for initial setup; and your monitor cable is connected to dvi1 port of your video card. only dvi cable is used, no adapters. you may use larger monitor according to your graphic card after the initial installation is complete.
H. EFIX will NOT work with OS disks shipped with any other computer. You MUST have an original retail disk not a back up copy of retail disk.added detail bios setup, for easy to follow instruction. we have added more pictures than necessary so it is simple.
I. we suggest using a USB keyboard. An USB mouse for initial OS installation and bios setup. Some wireless usb keyboards may work for setup and installation as well. no ps mouse or keyboard is supported on efix compatible operating system.
J. Please do not update your motherboard's bios unless updated version will solve a known issue for you, please remove efix usb dongle when updating your motherboard bios. at any time you update your motherboard's bios you must setup up your bios according to efix motherboard bios configuration guide again. should you want to update your motherboard's bios check our quick start guide. K. The easiest way to navigate when in the BIOS page is via the keyboard arrow keys. The Up and Down arrow keys will move the selection up and down. the left and right arrow keys will move the cursor left and right. The Enter or Return keys will activate each menu choice, and display any submenu options. The ESC (Escape) key will take you back to the previous level/menu. The BIOS page always displays the keys for Save, and Cancel without saving at the bottom of the screen.
